Lines and Sketches #15

I drew Lili Reinhart again.

The first season of Riverdale is ending tomorrow and I am a bit sentimental. It’s been a fun few months obsessing over the cast and shipping and all that fangirl stuff.

I think I’ll just have to draw more of the cast to deal with the hiatus.

On a more educational note, I find asking others’ opinion help me improve my drawing skills. I’m not one to annoy people with my drawings but it’s necessary. I feel sorry for the people who are close to me 😂.

I’ve been drawing a lot lately. I did a drawing of my grandfather recently. Now, I’m doing one for Mother’s Day (it’s a surprise for my mom! She’s been asking me to draw a portrait of our family. But I’m going to surprise her with a drawing of her first!), 8 portraits also for my mom to use in her class and another of Miles Heizer (that guy that plays Alex Standall in 13 Reasons Why, which is also another series I’m obsessed with).

It’s a lot. I’m actually procrastinating by writing these posts.

Till next time.

Lines and Sketches #8

Classic Shmosby.

This week, I’ll be drawing the How I Met Your Mother casts. Today, I drew Josh Radnor.

His eyes and ears are a little bit wonky. I’m also mad that I can never draw the hair inside the paper 😂. It’s always out of bounds. And I think I overdrawn his hair too. But Josh’s hair is always that fab.

Anyway, HIMYM was amazing. So amazing that I managed to finish all 9 seasons in 2 months.

I don’t get why people hate the ending, though. I loved it. Although I wished Barney had a better closure.

But hey, you can’t have everything right? It was the writer’s vision of the ending. So, all is well.

I drew Freddie Highmore today. I decided not to draw the hands because I’m shit at it.

The first episode of the last season of Bates Motel just aired last Monday. I’m so excited! I have been following that series since the first time it aired.

I am a huge fan of Freddie Highmore since I saw him in The Spiderwick Chronicles. I had the biggest crush on him too. Haha! I still do but it’s more of an admiration kind of crush.

I hope he’ll feature on more movies and series in the future. He’s such a cutie patootie. 😂

BTW this 30 day challenge/habit-making really does work. I think I’ve progressed more in this week than I’ve ever done in the last 3 years.

Today, I drew Alexander Vlahos with a wonky hand. Haha.

He once played Mordred in BBC’s Merlin. It was such a great series, sigh. It was one of the first series I’ve binge-watched. Good memories… (And by that I mean, oh the hours I could’ve spent doing something productive. But I don’t really regret it. (Probably will in 5 years)) I freaking cried at the ending too. And I was rooting for Mordred to be the good guy but it didn’t happen. It still hurts to think about the ending…

Today, I drew Ed Sheeran.

I feel so lucky to be living on the same era as Ed Sheeran. He will go down in history as one of the most talented musicians on Earth. He has created songs that people of the future aka our children and grandchildren will know all the words to and will sing along to AND will consider as ‘classic’ just like how we appreciate songs from 1990s and the years before.

His album is coming up soon. But you guys should totally listen to his new song, How Would You Feel (Paean).

Tried to draw Marlon Brando today.
I didn’t get the chance to draw during the weekends. Family time and all that jazz, ya know. Anyway, I’m pretty proud of this drawing. Obviously I still tons of techniques to learn. (Not to mention actually draw a portrait that looks like the person 😂)

Brando was amazing in The Godfather. That iconic line “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse,” just gives me chills.
